New Wheels, New Look: Thank You for Making Our Transport Vans Shine!

We're thrilled to announce that Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) is sporting some fantastic new transport vans, thanks to the incredible generosity of our community! These aren't just any vans; they're now beautifully outfitted with eye-catching graphic wraps that will promote essential services as they safely transport animals from our Troutdale shelter to regional shelters and rescues for adoption.

This exciting van design upgrade was made possible by a successful online auction fundraiser held in December 2021 by the independent non-profit Friends of Multnomah County Shelter Animals. “We would like to thank everyone who participated in the auction or generously donated to this project,” said Kim S., Board president. “After a wait for available county fleet inventory to replace aging vehicles, we're so proud to finally display these new vans.”

A huge thank you goes out to Friends of Multnomah County Shelter Animals and their dedicated Board President, Kim S., Board Members Andrew B., Darlene A., Gail L., Cindy D., Paige L., and their community of supporters. We also extend our deepest gratitude to major project sponsor OnPoint Community Credit Union, Multnomah County Fleet Services for their support, and the talented graphic wrap designers at Oregon Design Company for bringing our vision to life.

We especially want to acknowledge the "movers and shakers" who spearheaded the 2021 auction that raised the funding for these wraps: Ronda N. and Mapsy P., emeritus Board Members of Friends of Multnomah County Shelter Animals and long-time volunteers at MCAS. Your dedication, along with the many supporters in our community who participated, made these wraps a reality.

For more information about how these vehicles will be used, and the scale of animal transfer operations at Multnomah County Animal Services, you can see the numbers and types of transferred animals, and all of our participating transfer partners in our Annual and Monthly Reports! In Fiscal Year 2025, MCAS transferred 1,960 animals thanks to the support of 58 regional shelters and rescues willing to provide shelter animals with adoption opportunities. That’s over 26% of all animal outcomes!

These new vans are more than just transportation; they're a moving billboard for animal welfare, helping us connect more animals with loving homes, and more community members with essential services for lost & found pets.

Thank you for making a difference!
