She is an athletic, high-energy girl who lives for "crazy" play sessions and would be most successful in a home with another high-energy dog who can match her speed. While she is incredibly sweet and displays some adorable submissive "appeasement" behaviors-like rolling on her back and whining for a hello-she is still very much a puppy at heart when it comes to social cues. She doesn't always know when to back off if a senior dog isn't in the mood, and her favorite way to initiate play is with an enthusiastic paw to the face! Because of her physical strength and "mouthy" play style, she is looking for a family that can continue her socialization and provide a sturdy dog mentor who enjoys a good wrestling match. Puppy Antics & Snuggle Goals When it's time to settle down, Sophie transforms from a gentleman athlete into a world-class couch potato and cuddle bug. She is a smart girl who already has a solid "Sit" under her belt and is highly motivated to learn. However, her new family should be prepared for some typical "big puppy" homework; Sophie is a fan of anything she can fit in her mouth, and if a toy isn't handy, she'll happily grab a stray t-shirt or shoe instead! She is also currently working on her "brave side" regarding the crate. Since the crate is brand new to her, she finds it quite scary right now and will need a patient family willing to go slow with positive reinforcement. In the meantime, she is a polite houseguest who is happy to snooze on the sofa. She has done very well with the toddler in the foster home. Very interested in cats.
