Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
- Bachelor's degree; AND
- Three (3) years of relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position; AND
- License required to practice veterinary medicine as outlined by Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 686.020 at the time of hire and maintenance of it throughout employment
An equivalent combination of qualifying professional level experience and relevant education that provides the required knowledge and abilities may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
You do not need to have the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills to qualify. However, keep in mind we may consider some or all of the following when identifying the most qualified candidates. Please clearly explain on your application how you meet any of the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills.
- Two (2) years of experience in veterinary practice; and either two (2) additional years of experience supervising animal health technicians and others in a veterinary clinic, or one (1) year of experience supervising animal health technicians in an animal shelter setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of current principles and practices in both veterinary services and animal sheltering.
- Ability to prepare and present accurate and reliable reports containing findings and recommendations, including documentation and reporting of cruelty/neglect, or legal cases.
- Demonstrated experience in managing overall population/herd health in a shelter setting, including managing infectious disease outbreaks.
