About me
Adoption Profile: Meet Luna, the Vocal Lovebug! 🎀
A "Spicy" Sweetheart
Luna is a unique soul who wears her heart-and her voice-on her sleeve. To know Luna is to understand that she is a "conversation starter." She is a world-class cuddler who will crawl right into your lap for affection, but she has a very specific way of saying "I love you": she growls while she's being snuggled! While it might be off-putting to some, her foster family has learned that this is just "Luna being Luna." If you stop petting her while she's rumbling, she'll immediately paw at you or nuzzle your hand for more. She isn't being mean; she's just very vocal about how much she enjoys your company!
House Manners & Skills
Luna is a professional roommate who has mastered the art of living in a home:
Housetrained: She is very reliable with her potty habits, though she can occasionally have a "happy tinkle" when greeting favorite people (specifically men).
Crate Pro: She is compliant and quiet in her crate, making her a great choice for when you need to run errands.
Smarty-Pants: She knows "Sit" and is very motivated by cheese and treats, which makes her a star during training sessions.
Understanding Luna's Boundaries
Luna is a sensitive girl who needs an advocate. Because she can be fearful of new people, she thrives in a low-traffic home where she doesn't have to meet strangers every day.
Luna is very passionate about her things! She can be protective of her food and toys (growling to let you know she wants space). She needs a home that respects her "no-interference" rule during mealtime and is comfortable managing her resources.
When she gets really excited, Luna can be "mouthy." She's working on her "Off" command and does best with handlers who can recognize when she's getting too revved up and help her redirect that energy into a toy.
Luna has sensitive ears and skin. While she is working on her leash skills, she prefers a gentle touch around her head and ears, and a soft harness that doesn't irritate her pink belly.
Her Ideal Match
Luna is looking for a patient, savvy adopter who speaks "dog." She needs an adult-only environment where she can be the center of attention. While she has been social with other dogs in playgroups, her guarding tendencies mean she would likely be happiest as the only pet in the home so she doesn't have to worry about sharing her favorite toys or her favorite humans.
If you're looking for a cutie who will tell you exactly how she feels and snuggle you until the sun comes down, Luna is waiting to meet you!
