About me

At this time, community members aren't able to visit the shelter to browse adoption kennels, and adoptions are limited to the virtual process.
Meet Diesel I'm always ready to roam the range and follow the chuck wagon. I love my food, and take treats nicely.
  • I'm not a big fan of sharing though. Good management will be key for me and as long as you leave me alone while I'm eating, I'll be a happy guy!
  • The shelter is recommending a harness or head halter to make our walks more enjoyable while I'm learning to walk nicely I actually do pretty well when wearing my harness.
  • I can be sensitive to some handling, so the shelter recommends kids 5 and up if there are any in my new home also because I can get super excited and be too physical for the little ones-though I mean no harm.  I do already have some awesome tricks up my sleeve and already know how to sit, spin, and shake with both paws! I am an extremely affectionate boy that loves nothing more than getting love, playing fetch, and sometimes playing "catch me if you can." This is the greatest game ever! If you don't know it, I'll teach you all the key points in time.
  • On my short list of must haves is a securely fenced yard and lots of supervision as I am known to be quite the escape artist and don't like to be left alone for too long. I am crate trained and do well when left alone in my crate for just short periods of time. My previous adopter couldn't say enough good things about me, especially how well mannered and quiet I was in their home.
  • I have lived with other dogs but will need to take introductions to any new dogs slowly. I have proven to be too much for cats so a feline free home is also on my short list.
