Meet Tina H., the Foster Coordinator at Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS), celebrating five years as a staff member. Tina was previously a Client Services Lead before being promoted in April.
Laundry is a vital daily task at the shelter, and MCAS is seeking new volunteers. Shifts are available multiple days per week, both in the morning 7:30-10:30 and in the afternoon 12:00-2:30.
Jean J. fosters kittens, and cats with medical or behavioral needs while enjoying some purr therapy as well. Community support is an important part of our shelter system.
For Rebekah U., fostering medically needy cats feels like an easy and rewarding extension of what she’s already doing for her owned cats, and in her medical profession.
Kristin S. - September 2021 Volunteer of the Month
Sep. 20, 2021
Endearingly called “The Puppy Lady” by friends and neighbors, Kristin S. grew up on a working farm surrounded by animals, and now has a special place in her heart for puppies as a foster volunteer.
When Heidi was a child, her mother took in an abandoned cat. Ever since, Heidi has wanted to take care of animals in need of special help- a role that she now fulfills as foster volunteer.
Tracy J. has always had animals, whether they were cats, dogs, chickens, or goats. So it came naturally for Tracy to want to help the animals of our community as a foster volunteer.
