Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) waives impound and board fees for stray pets brought to the shelter.

Multnomah County Animal Services is dedicated to practices that lead to lifesaving. We do not euthanize healthy and safe animals, or euthanize for space. Our shelter live-release rate is high, at 90%.

Thanks to overwhelming community support, many animals at our shelter have been adopted, and selection is limited. Thank you to our transfer partners, our volunteers, and to adopters and advocates.

The health advisory for recreational use at Wapato Marsh (Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge) has been lifted. While cyanotoxin levels may be safe for people, they are STILL ELEVATED and UNSAFE for Dogs.
