The shelter is open for dog adoptions, while intake for new dogs is still closed. There have been no additional deaths or new cases of Streptococcus zooepidemicus (SZ) in the adoption kennels.
People seeking to add a pet to their family are invited to Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) for a fee-waived adoption event in-person at its Troutdale Shelter, June 4 - 5, from Noon to 4 pm.
