Happy Adoption: Laverne the Kitten

Fostering can be a family and community affair, as in the case of Laverne the kitten. A young neighbor visited regularly to socialize Laverne, and made a picture as a gift for her adopter, Carolyn.

Laverne the kitten was found as a stray in June, and was immediately sent to a volunteer foster home until she was old enough for her spay, and adoption. Foster Volunteer, Joyce, enlisted the help of her neighbor's daughter, Hazel, to help socialize Laverne. Hazel visited the kitten regularly, and- as a talented young artist- even created a portrait of Laverne as a gift for her future adopter.

An interested adopter, Carolyn, applied online to meet and adopt Laverne. After an initial meeting, and a short wait, Laverne the kitten was spayed and ready to go home!

Carolyn left Joyce's house on July 24 with her new kitten companion, Laverne, and a thoughtful gift from Hazel.

Thank you to Joyce, Hazel, Carolyn, and all of Laverne the kitten's village of support that cared for her and made her adoption possible.
