Thank you to the community for donating large blankets for dog kennel bedding.

The 2024 Fiscal Year Annual Report (July 2023 - June 2024) provides outcomes and program statistics used in the process of developing the FY 2026 budget for Animal Services.

Thank you to staff for coming in on December 25 to clean kennels, provide special toys and treats to the pets, hold dog playgroups, administer medications, and provide emergency services.

Thank you to 'Santa Paws' - Warren E. and Amanda L. for bringing toys for the shelter dogs! Santa brought lots of toys for the good dogs at the shelter, and they all made Santa's list!

Cooper the cat is sweet, playful, and affectionate. He chases and plays with the other cats and snuggles, chirping and chasing toys, and purring to show his people he's happy.

The Animal Services Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2025 (July 2024 - June 2025) is now available! This report offers a comprehensive look at our division's outcomes and key statistics.

A big thank you to Melissa Etheridge; Amy Ray and Emily Saliers of The Indigo Girls; and Monqui Presents for their support of adoption and fostering at their Edgefield performance on July 28, 2025.

Fostering can be a family and community affair, as in the case of Laverne the kitten. A young neighbor visited regularly to socialize Laverne, and made a picture as a gift for her adopter, Carolyn.

Can you help? MCAS is seeking Volunteer Animal Transport Drivers to support shelter animals receiving spay or neuter surgery from veterinary partners before adoption, and for animal transfers.
