Bowtruckle is a sweet, social 6-year-old neutered male who's ready to find his forever home! This charming boy loves a cozy perch-he's especially fond of sitting in an open, screened-in window to watch the world go by and supervise the local birds. Bowtruckle came from a rough background and arrived at the shelter with an injury, but he settled into his foster home quickly and has shown just how resilient and good-natured he is. He loves human company and follows his people from room to room (often getting underfoot in the process!). Bowtruckle is an affectionate cat and he shows it through closeness and gentle "grooming" licks-though he can be particular about petting: sometimes he's all in, sometimes not, and he'll let you know with body language. When he's excited, overstimulated, or asking for attention, he can get a little mouthy, including the occasional nip to say "not like that" with pets - but he has never hurt anyone, it's just his way of communicating. Sometimes, it's just a sign that he needs to play or eat! Bowtruckle is athletic and playful, lighting up for wand toys, kickers, and balls to chase. He'll do best with someone who can give him several play sessions a day to burn off that energy. He also loves a good catnip party and Temptations treats. Bowtruckle is food-motivated and appreciates a regular mealtime routine. He's a bit of a mischief-maker - sometimes exploring counters and tables - but he's great about using his scratchers and is easy about nail trims, calmly allowing handling. He'll thrive in a calm, cat-savvy home with people who understand his communication style and can match his energy with playtime and patience.
