The Multnomah County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution that advances replacing the Animal Services shelter by authorizing the next steps in planning a new facility.

In a challenging budget year, the Board of County Commissioners invested in veterinary staff positions, and restored funding for after hours emergency services for foster volunteers and found animals.

Congratulations to Carol P., nominated and chosen as a December 2019 Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) Volunteer of the Month.

Laundry is a vital daily task at the shelter, and MCAS is seeking new volunteers. Shifts are available multiple days per week, both in the morning 7:30-10:30 and in the afternoon 12:00-2:30.

Multnomah County Animal Services, experiencing high intake in dogs, urges support from community members seeking to adopt this weekend.
