To safeguard our rabbits in the shelter, and to prevent the potential spread of rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus 2 (RHDV2), MCAS is taking special precautions and asking the public to be observant.
The shelter is open for dog adoptions, while intake for new dogs is still closed. There have been no additional deaths or new cases of Streptococcus zooepidemicus (SZ) in the adoption kennels.
The Animal Shelter Alliance of Portland (ASAP) is updating how it reports animals. New reports will match the Shelter Animals Count (SAC) national database.
