I was not able to hold the dog. I only saw them around 11:45pm Monday 6/8. They ran across the Glisan/59th St. intersection (the dog ran from the north going south), and I parked my car and tried to beckon them. I chased them for quite a while, but they were very wary of strangers and gave me the slip and I could not find them again.
Dog was medium-sized, with short white fur and a few brown spots. Not sure of the breed, but my best guess is some sort of spaniel or pointer. They had a blue collar. Last seen, they were running around the residential areas between Glisan and Burnside and 57th and 59th.
