Emergency Pet Food Support

Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) is proactively offering emergency pet food support for community members in need.

MCAS will begin distributing pet food to qualifying community members by appointment in response to anticipated economic challenges related to COVID-19. The expanded emergency pet food bank is one of many regional sources of pet food assistance serving pet owners in need, such as the Pongo Fund.

Community members in need of pet food support may call the shelter’s main phone number, 503-988-7387, during call center hours (11 am - 5 pm on M,Tu,Th,F; 9 am - 4:30 pm on Sa, Su) to provide basic information about their circumstances, number and type of pets, and to set an appointment for food pickup.

Appointments will be set for future dates to allow shelter staff to stock and prepare the appropriate amount of food per each request at the beginning of the day. Pet food assistance may be provided once a month for each household, as supply is available.
