An Amazing Reunion Story
On the afternoon of September 5th, a vacationer from Sioux Falls, South Dakota brought in a cat that he found at Timothy Lake (on the other side of Mt Hood). Fortunately, the cat had a microchip and MCAS was able to quickly and easily obtain the cat owner's contact information.
It turned out that the cat's owners live in Donald, OR. And apparently, the cat (named Bailey) is an indoor-only cat who had never been outside. After escaping from her home, it seems she climbed into a neighbor's boat to hide and inadvertently made her way to Timothy Lake with the boat's owners. Thanks to a microchip and a good samaritan, we were able to reunite Bailey with her owners just a few hours after she came into the shelter. Needless to say, they were very happy to have Bailey back, safe and sound.
Microchips and pet licenses help us reunite lost pets with owners every week. You can license your pets right here on the MultCoPets.org web site and a microchip can easily be implanted by your veterinarian.
