Feral Kitten Socialization Workshop (FREE to the public!)

Thursday, 2/07/13 - 11:54 am

When
Saturday, 3/02/13 - 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Want to help save kittens? Multnomah County Animal Services is hosting a special feral kitten socialization workshop. This workshop is free and open to the public. Whether you want to foster feral kittens for MCAS or work on humanely reducing the feral cat population in your own neighborhood, we welcome you to join us.

You'll learn about TNR (trap-neuter-return) through MCAS's Apartment Cat Team (ACT) program. Then our special guest,  Mike Phillips of New York City's Feral Cat League, will demonstrate techniques for socializing and caring for feral kittens and helping them become adoptable.

Feral kitten socialization is one piece of MCAS's plan to save more animal lives. By enlisting the community's help with feral kittens, the feral population is reduced, intake of feral kittens to the shelter decreases, and our save rate for cats improves. As the feral cat population is humanely decreased, the impact of cats on native wildlife is also reduced.

We hope to see you at the workshop! You can join this event on Facebook or download a printable poster.
